Man dies after crash with parked car in East Lothian

A 55-year-old man has died after his car collided with a parked car in Tranent, East Lothian.

The incident, which involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro and a parked blue Citroen C3, happened at about 12:05 on Tuesday on the A199 Haddington Road.

Emergency services attended and the Vauxhall driver was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he later died.

The road was closed for investigation and fully reopened at about 15:30. Officers have urged anyone with information to contact them.

Police said no-one else was injured in the incident.

Sgt Jamie Humpage said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in this crash."
