Man charged with murder following tower block death

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a 38-year-old man in a Dundee tower block on Hogmanay.

The man, whose identity has not been released by police, was found dead inside the Tulloch Court building on Hilltown Terrace at about 14:00 on 31 December.

Matthew Tudge, 43, faced a single charge of murder during a private appearance at the city's sheriff court.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination.

Police conducted door-to-door inquiries last month and reviewed over 100 hours of CCTV footage following the discovery of the man's body.
