A school building has been "totally destroyed" following a fire.

Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire Service were called to King Edward VI Community College in Totnes at about 00:15 BST following reports of a large blaze.

The fire service said engines from Totnes, Ashburton and Paignton attended the site and found changing facilities on the school's grounds "well alight".

It added an investigation into the cause had been launched after the single storey building was "totally destroyed by the fire". Devon and Cornwall Police said no injuries had been reported and no-one was inside the building.
