Jersey chef wins Michelin Young Chef Award
Bohemia RestaurantA Jersey chef has won the Michelin Young Chef Award as the restaurant he works at retained its Michelin star for the 22nd year in a row.
Tom Earnshaw, the head chef at Bohemia, was praised by judges for his technical skill and originality at the ceremony in Dublin.
Bohemia is the only starred restaurant in Jersey, with its managing director Lawrence Huggler saying the accolade "is so well-deserved".
"Retaining a Michelin star and being recognised as the Young Chef of the Year are truly outstanding achievements and a strong endorsement of the huge commitment shown by Tom and the whole team," he said.
Earnshaw, who took over as head chef in 2025, said it was "an incredible honour" to receive both awards.
He said: "The restaurant has an extraordinary heritage, and my focus has been on respecting that while continuing to evolve the food in a way that feels relevant, exciting and true to our identity.
"The star belongs to the whole team for their focus, consistency and ability to create meaningful experiences for our guests."
Earnshaw said attending the awards ceremony was a "surreal experience".
He said: "You have an idea of what you're going to say, and then the moment you stand on stage and they say your name, everything goes out the window and you almost forget how to speak."
Earnshaw added that it was "definitely a proud moment for myself" and that it was "nice to be able to share a room with so many peers that I've looked up to over my career".
