Boxing Day dip postponed due to rough seas
Zoie O'Brien/BBCA charity Boxing Day dip which attracts hundreds of people has been postponed due to forecasted high winds and rough seas.
The Aldeburgh Boxing Day Swim, which was started by local GP Dr Kevork Hopayian in 1988, has instead been pushed back to 12:00 GMT on New Year's Eve.
The 60-second dip, organised by the Aldeburgh Triathlon group, is this year raising funds for the East Anglia's Children's Hospices and Médecins Sans Frontières.
So far more than 300 people have signed up to the event, which will take place on the beach opposite Moot Hall.
Organisers said changing the day of the event was the "best chance" of ensuring good attendance.
With the change of day, the swimmers have been urged to also take part in the group's Sprout Sprint 5k event, which begins at 10:00 on New Year's Eve.
"Thank you for your understanding and support; have a great Christmas," said a group spokesperson, writing on Facebook.
