Man suffers serious injuries in moped fall

A man suffered life threatening injuries when he fell from his moped after hitting a kerb in Barnsley.

The 37-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital after the crash on Cumberland Drive in Ardsley at about 06:00 GMT on Thursday.

South Yorkshire Police said they believed the man was riding a pink moped along the road when he collided with a kerb and fell.

Officers urged anyone who witnessed the crash or had footage of the bike and rider to contact them.
