A popular annual immersive light and sound installation in Jersey will be ticketed for the first time to ensure it remains safe for visitors, organisers have said.

Dreaming Trees transforms Howard Davis Park using lights and sounds to teach visitors about how trees communicate and share their resources.

This year organisers have launched a ticketing website for people wanting to visit the installation on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights to manage capacity.

Organiser Bruce Labey said the change was made to make sure the event is "an enjoyable and safe experience for everybody".

Labey, who first put on the event in 2023, said the change to ticketing was made "so we can keep a tab on the numbers coming into the park."

He added the popularity of the event had been a surprise and having to ticket it meant they were a "victim of our own success".

"We were putting on an event in the cold and the rain in February, in the dark, in the mud, in a park," he said.

"People don't like going into parks in the dark... but it worked. It was magic."

Dreaming Trees runs until 21 February.

Tickets are not required to visit the installation on Monday to Thursday evenings.
