Man pleads not guilty to woman's murder

A man charged with the murder of a woman has pleaded not guilty.

Benjamin Day, 20, of Redditch, Worcestershire was accused of murdering 24-year-old Maria Saceanu at an address in Oldbury, West Midlands, on a day between December 19 and 22 last year.

Day appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court via prison video link on Wednesday where he spoke only to identify himself and to enter a not guilty plea to murder.

The case has been adjourned for a trial date yet to be fixed.

Day, of of Yeadon Close, was charged on 24 December, a few days after police were called to an address in Barncroft Road where a woman was confirmed dead at the scene.
