Driving arrest after man left with serious injuries

A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a lamppost and parked cars in Oldbury.

A Ford Fiesta was involved in the collision on Newbury Lane at around 23:00 GMT on Friday. The road currently remains closed off.

One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, and a second man with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

The detained man has been taken to hospital for assessment and will be questioned in due course, West Midlands Police said.
