Part of the M1 in Northamptonshire has been closed after an overturned van led to an oil spill.

The northbound carriageway was fully shut between junction 16 for Northampton and junction 18 for Rugby in Warwickshire at about 07:55 GMT.

The crash caused a "significant oil spillage", National Highways said.

At 12:46, National Highways reported the road had been fully reopened.

Work to clear the oil spill was ongoing, National Highways said.
