Man arrested for murder of 64-year-old woman
BBCA 41-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was found dead at a house in Oxfordshire.
Thames Valley Police said it had been called to the incident in The Park, in Harwell, at 21:37 GMT on Tuesday evening.
The force said that, despite the best life-saving efforts of officers, a 64-year-old woman died at the scene.
It said a man known to the woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident, and remained in police custody.
The victim has not yet been formally identified, but police said her next of kin had been informed.
Officers would remain at the scene for "some time", the force added.
Senior investigating officer Det Insp Alice Broad said: "We understand this murder will be of concern to the community but we do not believe there is any threat to the wider public.
"We are in the early stages of a complex investigation but we are following several lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances around the murder.
"Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers."
