Residents no longer need to keep their windows and doors closed after a blaze at a farm was extinguished, firefighters said.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent six fire engines and a bulk water carrier to a farm in Sweets Lane, East Malling, just before 22:00 BST on Friday.

The fire spread to machinery and outbuildings and burnt a large amount of wood chips and logs. Crews put the fire out and dampened down the site.

A warning was previously issued at 09:00 BST on Saturday, due to smoke remaining in the air. However, firefighters said in the evening that their operations were complete and people in the area no longer needed to keep windows and doors closed.
