Severe rail disruption between Bedford and London

Thameslink says trains are running again but there may be some disruption to journeys.

Some train services are cancelled causing delays.

Branch line East Midlands Railway and CrossCountry services will be suspended on Thursday night.

The Hope Valley Line will cease services on Thursday and not return to operation until Saturday.

Major changes to rail timetables start this weekend but passengers on one line are unhappy.

The operator says there will be more frequent and direct services on the revised timetable.

Train upgrades carried out there will include better seats, toilets and charging ports.

Network Rail will run replacement buses when the work takes place on 8 and 9 November.

The introduction of the fleet was first planned for 2022 but has been hit with a number of delays.
