Imagine staying awake for more than two days, doing magic tricks the entire time...

Well, that's exactly what Nigerian magician Ibitoye Kingfahd did in Lagos last November, and now, he's officially a Guinness World Record holder for the longest magic show.

Ibitoye - who goes by his stage name "FaddotheGreat" - performed more than 1,200 tricks during his 50-hour show.

He broke the previous record of 30 hours and 45 minutes, which was set by Richard Smith from the UK in 2004.

Ibitoye – who first learnt magic by watching YouTube tutorials - spent eight months getting ready for the challenge.

He had to build his own props and remember lots of tricks - as the Guinness World Record rules said he couldn't repeat any of them within a four hour gap.

He said: "The hardest moment for me was actually when I broke the previous record."

He added: "But with the crowd cheering me on, with my team giving me the best motivation I could get, we kept pushing and pushing till we eventually got to our goal."
