Legendary orca brothers seen in UK waters

Two legendary killer whales - named John Coe and Aquarius - have been spotted off the coast of Cornwall.
The brothers are the last remaining members of the West Coast Community pod and were filmed by Deadly 60 presenter Steve Backshall, who lives nearby.
Members of the pod have been swimming in UK shores for a long time and Steve thinks the brothers are "probably in excess of 60 years of age".
The brothers were last seen off the west coast of Cornwall in May 2021.
Steve said it was one of his "greatest British wildlife moments".

In the 1990s, the pod included 10 orcas who were frequently seen around the UK and Ireland.
Steve said he spent half an hour watching them from his boat, noting that this was "not a sight we're going to see forever".
"It was just the most overwhelming, emotional, beautiful experience and even more so because they are such well-known characters."
