Introducing a brand new series about Shropshire | |
| | | The Wrekin & River Severn - what Shropshire's all about? |
| | A brand new BBC radio series called A Sense of Place is currently being made. BBC Radio Shropshire producers Chris Eldon Lee and Fay Wrixon explain the thinking behind the series and explain how you can help. |
 | | | A Sense of Place is an exciting new documentary series that needs you to help make it successful.
We want your help, as the people who live and work in Shropshire, to put into words what exactly Shropshire is all about.
The programme is due to be broadcast on BBC Radio Shropshire at 12 o'clock every Sunday lunchtime from April 28th until the Queen's Jubilee Sunday on 2nd June 2002.
The series has two producers, Chris Eldon Lee and Fay Wrixon. Fay explains, "We're searching for Shropshire's sense of place. As in what makes Shropshire, Shropshire?"
 | | Where is your favourite view? | Chris adds, "We also want to know what makes Shropshire special to you. It could be a sound, a smell, a sunset or even the people next door whether they're the neighbours from heaven or from hell."
"We've got lots of ideas and we're sure you've got some too! So please share them with us and then we can show the rest of the country how special Shropshire really is, warts and all of course."
The series looks at people's personal experiences of living in the county and will involve contributions from you.
Chris and Fay are looking for people with a view, whether you've lived in Shropshire all your life or have recently moved here. And it doesn't have to be all nice things either. Whatever your opinion is on your part of Shropshire, we'd like to hear about it.
We'd also like to see your photographs and paintings of Shropshire so that we can build up a unique collection of material illustrating Shropshire in words and pictures on this website.
We'll be keeping you up to date as Chris and Fay develop their ideas for A Sense of Place. Watch out for the latest news here.
