  1. Back in the morning!published at 18:53 BST 26 April

Good news for Worcestershire's players, who can enjoy a day off on Monday after they completed an innings win over Kent at New Road with plenty of time to spare.

But for 12 other teams, it's heads down and into the final straight of this round of County Championship games - many of them intriguingly poised.

So which of them will be celebrating by this time tomorrow? Join us from 10.45am onwards to find out...

Until then, have a good evening!

  2. Stumps at Headingleypublished at 18:44 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 31-2 – Sussex lead by 22 runs

Tom Clark and Jack Carson were given a serious examination by Yorkshire's bowling in those last knockings but they survive to make it to the last day.

Yorkshire did get the wickets of Daniel Hughes and Tom Haines after their 511 gave them a slender first-innings lead of nine runs.

It's been very even throughout, can either side do enough on day four to pick up a win?

  3. 'An engrossing day of cricket'published at 18:41 BST 26 April

    Notts 310-4 (f/o) & 279 v vs Warks 459

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It's been another engrossing day of cricket today.

We will find out quite quickly tomorrow if we have a game on our hands tomorrow.

Notts have battled hard, Warwickshire have been very good with the ball.

  4. Close of play at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:37 BST 26 April

    Notts 310-4 (f/o) & 279 v Warks 459, Notts lead by 130

Michael Booth's final delivery of his 16th over today concludes the day's play at Trent Bridge.

All in all, it was probably Nottinghamshire's day, who managed two hefty top-order partnerships with contributions from Haseeb Hameed (115), Ben Slater (48), and Ben Duckett (93).

The home side now lead by 130 runs for the loss of four wickets, which they would have probably taken after they were bowled out cheaply in the first innings this morning.

Warwickshire have been fairly consistent with the ball, but failed to create anything during the afternoon session. After tea, however, some Ed Barnard and Booth magic caused two quick wickets to give the Bears a boost, with Beau Webster and Dan Mousley taking the other two wickets.

Nottinghamshire may have done enough today to prevent a Warwickshire victory, but it is all still to play for between the two Midlands sides tomorrow.

  5. Postpublished at 18:37 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 27-2 – Sussex lead by 18 runs

    That was a real chance!

There are plenty of Yorkshire fielders really close to Tom Clark as he tries to defend Dom Bess' spin.

He gets a little too much bat on that one and it's hearts in mouths for a moment but it lands in between the mass of fielders.

    It's very tense!

  6. Postpublished at 18:32 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 27-2 – Sussex lead by 18 runs

It feels quite tense at Headingley in these closing stages.

Sussex are desperately trying to tick off the remaining balls without any further damage.

There are plenty of oohs and aahs from the home side after every delivery.

  7. Close of play at Durhampublished at 18:26 BST 26 April

    Durham 295 v Lancashire 370 & 260-9 dec

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

James Anderson's plan to have a go at Durham in the CLS gloom has failed.

Eight overs were scheduled when he declared their second innings around 6pm, with a lead of 335. But the umpires then decided it was too dark to allow play to continue and called it off for the day.

So we return on the final day tomorrow, with it very much being game on!

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:26 BST 26 April

    Haines c & b Hill 13 (Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 25-2 – Sussex lead by 16 runs)

Yorkshire do get a second one before the close!

The hosts are making the most of this period in the gathering gloom and George Hill removes Tom Haines doing all the work himself.

Haines is squared up by the delivery and sends a leading edge back to Hill for a caught and bowled.

Sussex are under real pressure here and send in Jack Carson as a nightwatchman with three overs left.

    Critical period coming up here.

  9. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 18:22 BST 26 April

    Notts 299-4 (f/o) & 279 v Warks 459 (Notts lead by 119)

Joe Clarke flashes and catches his outside edge off a sharp Michael Booth delivery. He is dropped by Rob Yates at second slip.

It came at Yates fairly quickly, but he got both hands on it, and will be unhappy with himself for putting that down.

Notts need to stay disciplined here and try not to lose another wicket with three overs left to survive in the day.

  10. Postpublished at 18:22 BST 26 April

    Yorkshire 511 v Sussex 502 & 25-1 – Sussex lead by 16 runs

    Five overs remaining at Headingley.

Yorkshire's tails are up and they are bowling well, sensing they have an opportunity to turn this game in their favour this evening.

  11. Close of play at Sophia Gardenspublished at 18:20 BST 26 April

    Glamorgan 440 v Leicestershire 500-5 - Leics lead by 60 runs

Leicestershire finish on a nice round number of 500 - giving them a lead of 60 runs at the end of day three.

Only four wickets fell today and it's hard to see how this game will end in anything but a draw.

Jonny Tattersall will resume on 86 in the morning alongside Ben Cox on 31.

  12. Close of play at Derbypublished at 18:17 BST 26 April

    Derbyshire 281 & 117-3 (f/o) v Gloucestershire 498

Gloucestershire will go into the final day of this Division Two match in a very healthy position.

They need seven more wickets, and still hold a lead of exactly 100 runs.

  13. 'Two former players have done the damage'published at 18:13 BST 26 April

    Durham 295 v Lancashire 370 & 360-9 dec

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It's typical two former Durham players should have done so much damage to their old team today.

Earlier Michael Jones made 72 and Paul Coughlin has reached a century, with last man James Anderson at the other end.

The moment he reached three figures Lancashire then declared leaving him on his joint best score of 100*. He also made that total against Worcestershire here in 2022.

Durham now have eight difficult overs to face in the gloom of CLS. The lights are on but my light meter suggests the light is below the level they would normally play in, which is around 300 lux.

Clearly the umpires are not sure either. We have a slight delay and they are in the middle chatting to the ground staff, but they have their ECB coats on, rather than their white jackets.

    The target is 336.

  14. 'A very interesting phase of play'published at 18:13 BST 26 April

    Notts 290-4 (f/o) & 279 v vs Warks 459

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

These are the moments Chris Woakes has come back to County Championship cricket for.

It will be a very interesting phase of play now.

  15. Close of play at The Ovalpublished at 18:12 BST 26 April

    Surrey 472 v Essex 409 & 19-0

Dan Lawrence, who finished off the Essex first innings with a clutch of wickets, is given the penultimate over of the day and Paul Walter plays out a maiden.

Walter returns to the dressing-room with two runs from 28 balls, while Dean Elgar has 11 - but the key figure from the visitors' perspective is the 0 in the wickets column.

Essex still trail by 44 and Surrey will need quick wickets in the morning if they're to force themselves into a winning position.

  16. new ball

New ballpublished at 18:11 BST 26 April

    Notts 291-4 (f/o) & 279 v Warks 459

The Bears take the new ball half-way through Michael Booth's 13th over.

With another six overs to bowl this evening, Warwickshire will be hopeful to force another wicket to see the back of either Joe Clarke or Kyle Verreynne.

It looks like Chris Woakes will be returning from the Stuart Broad end.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:04 BST 26 April

    Haynes lbw b Booth 0 (Notts 286-4 f/o & 279 v Warks 459)

A disappointing game for Jack Haynes, who departs for 0 after scoring 1 run in the first innings.

He is struck on the pad by Michael Booth, who has impressed here at Trent Bridge with both bat and ball.

Warwickshire are right back in it with two key wickets in quick succession. One more would surely mark an excellent evening session for the Bears.

  18. 'The door ajar for Warwickshire'published at 18:01 BST 26 April

    Notts 281-3 (f/o) & 279 v vs Warks 459

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Warwickshire would feel if they took two more wickets tonight then they would be in a great position for tomorrow.

The door isn't wide open, but it's slightly ajar.

  19. 100 runs

for Coughlinpublished at 17:58 BST 26 April

    Durham 295 v Lancs 370 & 260-9 dec

Paul Coughlin gets to his century and Lancashire declare.

Durham will need 336 for victory.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:58 BST 26 April

    Hameed b Barnard 115 (Notts 281-3 f/o & 279 v Warks 459)

What a delivery from Ed Barnard!A perfect length, jagging in off the pitch and through the gate to bowl Haseeb Hameed top of off!

An excellent innings from the Nottinghamshire skipper is forced to end on 115 through some Barnard magic.

Jack Haynes now joins Joe Clarke (who has only faced 22 balls himself) at the crease.

Notts will not want to repeat their mishaps of yesterday evening where they lost late wickets in quick succession.

Could this be the shift in momentum the Bears need to get back in the driving seat?
