  2. 'I am a guy who looks at the positives'published at 17:22 GMT 26 February

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza: "I am a guy who looks at a lot of the positives. The last game we got 250 and there was panic and rush in our batting line up. Today I thought we were more composed and we need to take a lot of positive and heart from this.

"We could have executed our defensive plans better as well and we gave too many runs away. Once the train goes, it is hard to get back. We could have restricted them to 210 or 220. But you can see how willing these boys are to improve."

On the next game: "I am looking for a better fielding performance and hopefully we can continue our batting performance. If we do that, we have the best chance to win."

  3. 'We knew this was our game'published at 17:17 GMT 26 February

India batter and Player of the Match Hardik Pandya: "I am pretty happy. I had to reassess during my innings. I was trying to hit too hard and realised I can time the ball and hit sixes as well. Some games I have not done what I wanted, but today I am satisfied.

"We have all been keeping an eye on the games but it is about believing in your skill set and putting your best foot forward. We knew this was our game and we focused on that."

On his form with the ball: "I like bowling with the new ball. I like bowling the inswing ball which I am grateful to have the gift for and that gives men the chance to take wickets and challenge the batters."

I know it's all a bit doom and gloom on the Zimbabwe front, but Sikandar Raza's 31-run haul today saw him become Zimbabwe's first batter to reach 3000 runs in T20 internationals.

    That's some achievement!

Zimbabwe need to go back to the drawing board with their fielding plans and look at how they are catching and fielding. This has been disappointing for the last two games.

Before today, these two teams had only met once at the T20 World Cup. That meeting came in 2022 when Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 25-ball 61 led India to a 71-run win.

It was such a similar result this time around, how spooky!

India needed to do a lot of things better and they did today - Abhishek Sharma got runs in the powerplay and they have rectified their spin bowlers.

There were steady contributions from everyone who went out to bat so India will be happy.

India keep their T20 World Cup hopes alive by knocking out Zimbabwe!

Suryakumar Yadav's team put on an inspired display after falling to a 76-run defeat against South Africa in their opening Super 8s fixture.

They desperately needed a win at Chidambaram Stadium - and they get it in emphatic fashion. It was a stellar performance from both their batters and their bowlers.

Your work here is done, Arshdeep Singh.

It's another strong over for the swing bowler, who takes one wicket and gives up just three runs in his final outing of the game.

India are now just six deliveries from a confidence-inducing, and net run-rate enhancing, victory.

Arshdeep Singh has nailed that quick, fast and straight. There is not a lot any batter could have done with that ball.

India are well and truly closing in on victory at Chidambaram Stadium.

Zimbabwe take just nine runs off Hardik Pandya's latest over.

He's posted brilliant numbers with both bat and ball today, racking up a 50 not out and limiting Zimbabwe to just 21 runs off his three overs so far.

  15. Zim 152-4published at 17 overs

Another strong over for Arshdeep Singh, despite Zimbabwe's Tony Munyonga nicking two fours at the tail end.

He nips one past the stumps at third man and sweeps the other for a boundary at deep square leg.

Nevertheless, the bowler picks up two very important wickets and only concedes eight runs.

Sikandar Raza did not time that at all. He was trying to clear his front leg - he knew he needed to go for everything now.

A point of thought for after the game was how early they needed to have a go at India.
