Colwyn Bay and Bala Town refused FAW Tier 1 licences

Colwyn Bay and Bala Town have been refused FAW Tier 1 licences for next season's revamped JD Cymru Premier.
Bay are currently fourth in the table while Bala are 11th and battling to avoid relegation with one game remaining.
Both clubs have been refused licences on Personnel & Administration grounds.
The 10 other Cymru Premier clubs have secured licences to play in the top-flight next season, including relegated Llanelli Town.
The announcement was made after the First Instance Body (FIB) met to assess and consider the UEFA and FAW Men's Tier 1 applications.
Llandudno and Airbus UK Broughton – the top two in the Cymru North - have been awarded licences and will play in the top-flight next season but third placed Holywell Town's bid has been refused.
Trefelin BGC, Cambrian United and Ammanford – the current top three in the Cymru South – have also been awarded Tier 1 licences along with Aberystwyth Town and Newtown.
Caerau Ely, currently fourth in the Cymru South, have been refused.
Clubs who have been refused a licence by the First Instance Body, have six days in which to submit an appeal with the Appeals Body meeting on 16 April 2026.
