Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard speaking to TNT Sports: "We have looked really solid in the early stages of these competitions and it's all about keeping that momentum. I thought the first-half was really, really good and that always makes the second-half a little bit slower. I thought the focus was really good and we didn't give a lot away in the second. Very positive."

On the performances of youngsters Marli Salmon and Tommy Setford: "I thought they did really well, both of them. We see them every day in training and how them compete at the same level us. Marli Salmon has had a few more games than Tommy Setford, so I think I need to highlight Tommy today. I know it was only five or six minutes...but well done to him and hopefully more games in the future for him for Arsenal."

On Arsenal's depth: "You need to fulfill the role you have been given and it will be like that for the whole season. You never know when the manager will point at you, and you have to be ready to perform. I think today a lot of us showed today that we are ready when we are needed and we have a depth that will be useful towards the end of the season."

Wolves

Wolves boss Rob Edwards, speaking to BBC MOTD: "They were really difficult conditions and it was a challenging game. It was all set up for a cup upset because of the conditions, how we're doing and how they're doing. But we did the job, we were professional.

"We were ready for it (the conditions). We'd been up here, we'd seen it and the kind of conditions we ought to expect. We've talked a lot about mentality over the past few days and the players showed a really good mentality today.

"They showed a real desire to win, they did the basics really well and made really good decisions in trying conditions."

Why he only used one substitute: "The lads had been warming up but I turned around and they looked a bit cold. You don't want to introduce anyone now and have a negative effect. I felt the lads on the pitch were settled in the game."

On facing Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday: "We've got to recover well now. It'll be a completely different game but we look forward to it."

Stoke City

Stoke City goalkeeper Tommy Simkin, speaking to TNT Sports: "A good game, but we wanted to win it at the end of the day. It is one to learn from, and I am sure we will bounce back.

"I would like to think I held my own and we're back into league action next week. I have just come into the job and I know how good the goalkeepers are at the club. Coming in filling their shoes and I have enjoyed it."

Arsenal

Arsenal manager MIkel Arteta speaking to the BBC: "We started so well. We made a lot of changes because of players who needed minutes and deserve minutes as well. I'm very pleased with the way we started the game and the intensity that we showed, the connections between players and the threat we had. The first-half made a difference, obviously."

No difficulties after so many changes: "We tried a few different things as well because of some players not being available. I'm very pleased because the players did so well."

Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyokeres playing together for the first time:"Very good. We had an opportunity to try different things and different connections. From here until the end of the season, I'm sure we're going to use them."

On the performance of Christian Norgaard: "He was exceptional again. I'm not surprised. The way he prepares himself, the way he trains every single day, and looks after himself and his team-mates.When this happens, you can play in any context. I'm very pleased with him."

Grimsby Town

Grimsby boss David Artell speaking to BBC MOTD about the conditions: "When we played Manchester United it (the pitch) was a bowling green. We much prefer to have a bowling green. That's not me complaining, it's the hand that we were deal and had to get on with it."

Oxford United

Oxford boss Matt Bloomfield: "I was really proud and pleased with the performance today. Obviously we are disappointed not to go further in the competition but this is a level of performance we need to maintain.

"There's been loads of borderline decisions and none of them went our way today. Will Lankshear goes through one on one and gets a foul given against him and the penalty it was given before he hit the deck. Really frustrated but we have to make sure we create more chances to win the game.

"We have to be more consistent and show that same fight and desire that we did today. We performed properly today.

"Now we are out we concentrate on the league situation."

Wolves

Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was cold, wet, muddy and difficult conditions, but the lads did really well. It's mad, I quite enjoy these conditions.

"There are not many lads in the dressing room who have seen the lower leagues in England. We go out every game to try and win. Our league form has not been great but a cup run would be unbelievable for us and the fans.

"Hopefully we can keep going and see where it takes us."

Grimsby Town

Grimsby boss David Artell, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a proper traditional old school cup tie. It was going to be a fine margins game and that's how it was - we limited a Premier League team to one attempt on target and it's gone in. One chance, one goal for them. It showed how well we played in terrible conditions. The conditions made the game in some respects because it was a bit of a throwback."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to TNT Sports: "Very good.

"We made a lot of changes and some players needed some minutes. We started the game very, very well. We had some great actions collectively and individually. The first half made the difference."

On the players who came in: "Very good. These are the games they can gain experience.

"It is what we need. We have some important players out at the moment and need to make sure they are in a good moment and ready to play and ready to compete."

On Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White injuries: "Let's see in the next day or two."

Sunderland

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris: "No easy games. Oxford last season we struggled against them. Job done, good team spirit.

"Oxford went direct, second ball game which is always difficult to manage. When you find the opporutnity to score you do it and that is what we did. Oxford fought until the end, set-pieces and long throws we knew they were efficient."

On penalty decision: "You have to trust the referee otherwise you can't move forward. He did well, it was not an easy game to referee. It was balanced.

"We enjoy every game - Premier League or FA Cup. We try to do our best, it was enough today and we move forward."

Birmingham City

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies, speaking to TNT Sports: "It's frustrating to lose on penalties. I said to the players I'm proud of them. I am because I thought we gave them a really good game. I thought if anyone was going to win it would be us. We started the game really quickly, aggressively, we could've been two or three up by half-time but it wasn't to be. We kept pushing and fighting to the very end and I'm proud of them.

"There were a lot of positives today. I feel for the players particularly with the penalties because you want to get through at that point but they should hold their heads up because you see the response from the fans, there was a lot to be proud of."

Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke, speaking to the BBC: "This means a lot for us, also for our supporters we can send them back happy. In our recent history we were not too good in the FA Cup so it's good to go on a proper run, fifth round already, also such a scruffy hard fought win, sometimes these wins are the best for the spirit group. Lots of rotation today and also many players in the pitch that did not have that much minutes but we were still able to find a way in this difficult away game against a Championship side in red hot form. To find a way in a scruffy game to win it is good for my team, good for my spirit and I'm delighted.

"Birmingham were the better side in the first half, no doubt about it, but we defended everything in the end and there were some good saves by Lucas Perri. We changed the set-up, brought our captain, our leader Ethan Ampadu in and won the momentum back in the game and scored the one with a fantastic goal from Lukas Nmecha.

"We were always convinced that we could do it on penalties and that we have done. And Lucas Perri, again, very good in the penalty shootout and a good win for the team."

Wigan Athletic

Wigan caretaker boss Graham Barrow, speaking to TNT Sports: "We recovered [from being 4-0 down], that was the main thing. They've got two teams really within their squad. We are a bit disappointed with the goals we conceded but to dig in like we did to stop that... I thought the players did excellent in the second half. In essence they gave everything they got.

"Arsenal were relentless. I am really pleased for the players as it has been a tough time. There have been positives and the players stuck together, that is the main thing.

"We take from this the spirit and we tried something at 4-0 down going to a back four and it worked. I think we have enough to stay up, that is the main thing."

On when a permanent manager could be appointed: "Hopefully something happening in the next few days, we are just hearing rumours."

Wigan are playing one of the best teams in Europe – that is a daunting prospect. They need to get a new manager as soon as possible and stay in League One.

Arsenal

Arsenal forward Noni Madueke speaking to TNT Sports: "Very pleased. We were very professional and had the right intent. Four goals and a clean sheet. Like you said, it can be tricky if you don't apply yourselves properly, but that wasn't the case with us today so we are really happy."

On Eberechi Eze's performance: "He was unbelievable today. He pulled all the strings from the middle and had a hand in all the goals. I'm really pleased for him."

On scoring again: "I thank god for the goal and the win. That is my job - to try and help the team. When we win it is much better than when we draw like the other day."

Can Arsenal fans get excited about the end of the season? "I think they have every right to be. We are working hard to try and deliver the type of ought to be with our performances right now. That is our main focus and I think it is exciting - but we need to carry on doing the right things every single day."

Wolves

"An interesting game – really difficult conditions obviously for both teams.

"A different type of game and a bit of a throwback. It was never going to be a day for beautiful football.

"We played with some realism. We showed spirit and fight. Did the basics well and came through."
