Can Townsend just pick the Glasgow team with the addition of Finn Russell at 10 for the Six Nations please?

    Johnny Mac

Great result for Warriors to top the pool

    Dougie

It is quite extraordinary to restrict Saracens to a three-point penalty and when you look at the sides in the pool and win every game with maximum points this is a credit to Franco and all the players. Just make sure Franco is kept in Scottish rugby.

    Alan

    Outstanding by Glasgow. So proud.

  4. Glasgow announcing themselves as proper contenderspublished at 19:38 GMT 18 January

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer at Scotstoun

A perfect 20 group points for Glasgow. The team has suffered a few blows in the last year - the losses of Tom Jordan, Henco Venter and Seb Cancelliere - and again this year - they're losing Huw Jones and Adam Hastings at the end of the season - but they're powering on.

They're such an ambitious and tough team and they're actually getting better. To only concede three points is a tribute to the dog they have within them.

Contenders? You'd have to say yes. They have home advantage in the knockouts now. And nobody will want to come here.

  6. 'Be brave, keep swinging'published at 19:31 GMT 18 January

    FT: Glasgow Warriors 28-3 Saracens

George Horne speaking to Premier Sports: "We are in a pretty good place but we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves as that's where you come unstuck.

"You look around the room either at half time or on a Monday and there is a sense of belief there. The mantra is to be brave, keep swinging, we buy into that and it seems to be going alright."

    FT: Glasgow Warriors 28-3 Saracens

The Warriors will face the Bulls at Scotstoun for a place in the last eight. No-one will fancy a trip to Glasgow on this display.

And that is that, Glasgow Warriors win the pool and will be on home soil against the Bulls in the next round, and beyond if they make it!

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Euan Ferrie charges the ball down as Saracens try to clear in the 22, but the sub cannot hold onto the ball.

Last knockings now - no points in this half so far, who'd have thought that?

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Ollie Smith is tackled as he dives for the line by the flag, and the ball bounces out if his grasp. The winger cannot believe he's passed up the chance for a try.

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

A rare foray by Glasgow gets the home crowd going, and eventually a penalty is pumped to the corner tp give Glasgow a chance from a lineout.

  15. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Saracens can make no headway against this excellent Glasgow defence. The hosts have hardly been out of their own half in the last 10 minutes, but have hardly looked like conceding.

  16. Glasgow ruthlessly efficient both sides of the ballpublished at 19:05 GMT 18 January

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer at Scotstoun

Glasgow's attack was sensational in the first half but it's their defence that's been the bedrock of the night so far. This is a very good, if very inconsistent, Saracens team and they've got little or no change out of the home team. Jack Dempsey was been superb.

There's going to be an awful lot of Glasgow players in Gregor Townsend's Six Nations squad when he names it on Tuesday. It's not so much a question of how many make it as how many don't make it.

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Same old same old from Sarries - they attack to the left but Olly Hartley cannot hold on to the ball in the tackle, giving Glasgow a scrum five metres from their own line.

  18. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

The game has gone a bit flat compared to that stellar first half, for the hosts at least. The raft of substitutions since half-time probably have an effect.

  19. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Two penalties inside a minute against Saracens inside the Glasgow half relieve the pressure. The away side just cannot get a foothold in this as yet.

  20. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 21-3 Saracens

Saracens try to maul it over to the corner flag, but a mighty defensive effort by the home side stops them.
