Six weeks after the tsunami, 100 villagers returned to Lampuuk to begin rebuilding.

The mosque was the only structure left standing. All their homes had been destroyed.

Afraid of being permanently resettled if they stayed in refugee camps, they set up a makeshift tent village around the mosque.
