Pc Carl McIvor, 40, of Kent Police, said: "We do feel let down.

"We have a government that constantly rewards themselves and then they only want to give the police a 1.9% rise.

"As we cannot take industrial action, we need the government to support us by paying us a fair rise and not interfering with it just because it's an easier tack."
