Can Shini and Molly the mountain rescue dog save the day?

Molly the rescue dog has all the skills and super powers she needs to be able to find people who might be lost or in trouble on mountains, in all weather conditions! Can Shini and Molly track down the missing person in freezing weather conditions?

Shini heads into the mountains and will be joined the Mountain Rescue England and Wales team and their seriously clever mountain rescue dog Molly.

Shini will see get to see Molly in action as she takes her out on a training exercise to find a "missing" person. She gets to learn alot about what makes dogs like Molly so special, did you know they have about 200-300 million smell receptors compared to a human's 4 to 5 million? This makes rescue dogs incredibly efficient at using their senses to track down scent trails on a mountain.

With this in mind... It's Shini's turn to be the missing person, and she tries to make it as tricky for Molly as she can by spreading her scent across the mountain.

So who will win this ultimate game of hide and seek; a clever human, or a super sniffer dog?

Mountain Rescue England and Wales is made up of dedicated volunteers who are on call day and night to help anyone in trouble in the hills and mountains. These teams train to handle everything from tricky terrain to extreme weather, using specialist skills to search for and rescue people who are lost or injured.

Many teams also work with incredible rescue dogs, whose super‑powered noses help find people faster in wide, wild landscapes. Together, they form a lifesaving network that keeps our mountains safe for everyone who loves exploring them.
