Trapped in the body of an eight year old boy called Collin, The Anointed One (Andrew J. Ferchland) turns up on the scene to become The Master's new ally. His coming was foretold by a prophecy: ''Five will die and from their ashes The Anointed shall arise''.
Since his plans to kill Buffy keep going awry, The Master is delighted with the arrival of his new friend. The Master begins to educate The Anointed One in the ways of tackling Slayers and together they form a formidable foe for the relatively inexperienced Buffy. If the prophecies in the Codex are accurate, their partnership will inevitably result in her death...
