The Meadows housing

Nottingham Meadows

Ray Gosling was shocked by Nottingham's slums in 1963. "There are parts of Nottingham like The Meadows which are a disgrace - filthy houses you can do nothing with, pockets of poverty," he said at the time. Ray stood in the local elections to see if he could do something about the area's future. He described The Meadows as having "some of the worst slums in the country".
