High Street flats approved for town centre
GoogleUnused offices above a supermarket in Scunthorpe town centre are to be converted into 26 flats.
North Lincolnshire Council approved a planning application to convert offices above the Ellko supermarket on High Street into one, two and three-bedroom flats.
The flats will be self-contained, with their own kitchens and bathroom facilities, and the property will not operate as a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).
The council approved a change of use application on Friday after a noise assessment was submitted.
Because of the nature of the application, there has been no formal public consultation on the creation of the flats.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the flats will be spread across the first to third floors of the building, which stands out on the road for its height and chocolate grid style first floor front.
