Celeb gossip
Updated: 02 August
First there was Kylie, then there was Minnie Driver and now the perma-tanned Judith Chalmers has graced the shores of the White Isle. The 'Wish You Were Here' presenter has been filming a report on Ibizan holidays that don't involve clubbing. That probably means she wasn't spotted in Cream's VIP bar, Space or Pacha.
Drugs warning
Updated: 02 August
Ibiza's police are clamping down on drug crime. They've been making arrests over a find of 1000 kilos of cocaine, hidden on a yacht. The people concerned are thought to be part of an international drugs ring trying to get the goods from Columbia to mainland Europe. At the other end of the scale, a British man was caught dealing drugs in San Antonio this week. Not only did they find 12 pills on him, but two million pesetas in cash too, worth over £740,000.
Ibiza gets green lights
Updated: 01 August
Ibiza's notoriously dangerous San Antonio road finally has a set of safety lights. The 50ft "green wavelength" lights, installed between Amnesia and Privilege clubs, look set to come into effect next month. They'll automatically change from green to red if cars go above the speed limit of 50mph and are aimed at making that part of the road safe for clubbers, following a number of deaths over the past few years.

Fatboy's birthday mission
Updated: 31 July
Fatboy Slim celebrated his birthday last night in true Ibiza fashion at Manumission with Danny Tenaglia, Dave Seamen and wife Zoe Ball. Top tunes were provided by a star-studded DJ line-up including Sister Bliss, and Smokin' Jo. Ten thousand clubbers sang 'Happy Birthday', but even Fatboy was surprised when Zoe jumped out of a huge cake to deliver his birthday kiss.
Meanwhile, fellow DJ Carl Cox was enjoying a more low-key affair at Cocoon in Amnesia with Sven Vath and Josh Wink.
Tenaglia & Garnier's Space success
Updated: 31 July
Danny Tenaglia and Laurent Garnier have attracted the busiest night at Space since its opening party. Revellers queued for hours to get into the club. The line-up for the 'We Love Sundays' event had been dubbed one of the best in Ibiza this summer.
And it seems that Danny Tenaglia can't get enough of it, after he was spotted playing an impromptu set at Space this morning (Tuesday). He'd been out on the razzle with Fatboy Slim, but that didn't stop him getting behind the decks with Colin Peters and Jadell.
Ibiza’s loving it!
Updated: 31 July
Ibiza’s not known for it’s love of UK Garage, but that seems to be changing this year. Twice as Nice at Es Paradis has received a celebrity thumbs-up from Jade Jagger. She told organisers of an opening party in Ibiza Town that it was her favourite night. Not surprisingly, garage was on the musical menu for the venue’s launch and the Dreem Teem’s Spoony also put in an appearance.
Minnie’s been Spaced
Updated: 30 July
If star-spotting’s your thing, you might want to know that Minnie Driver has been spied at Space. The star of ‘High Heels And Low Lives’ has been seen hanging out by the DJ booth. According to gossip on the net, she used to be a dancer in an Ibizan club, so she should feel at home.

No men from Unkle
Updated: 26 July
Unkle, aka James Lavelle and DJ Shadow, cancelled their live set at Renaissance last night (Weds 25 July). They were forced to pull out because of recording committments in Japan. But clubbers were still treated to a top line-up with Slam, Danny Howells, Circulation and Pete Gooding.
Kylie's Cream of VIP crop

Kylie Minogue is the latest celeb to have graced Cream's VIP bar at Amnesia on Thursdays. The promoters reveal that properly-posh Lady Victoria Hervey, 'Trainspotting's Jonny Lee Miller and Jade Jagger have also enjoyed Cream's hospitality recently. Cosmic Gate's anthem
Updated: 25 July
The German dance duo Cosmic Gate look as though they have a big hit on their hands.
Their track 'Fire Wire' should make the top 10 on Sunday. It's catchy and repetitive, and at Manumission in Ibiza, clubbers are taking in signs saying 'Fire' and 'Wire' and waving them at the appropriate times.
Cosmic Gate, aka Nick and Bossi, think that's weird: "We haven't seen it ourselves but we have heard that people had made those signs."
"We thought that was kind of crazy, but it does show that people like the track." They say.
On an Ibizan mission
Updated: 20 July 2001
For the first time in Ibiza, clubbers are able to call upon the power of prayer. The Christian 24-7 Prayer movement have set up shop in San Antonio, offering to pray for clubbers. So far they say they've cured a guy's bad knee and his mate's ingrowing toenail. They've also been visiting the island's clubs to spread their message.
The man behind the group, James Bullock says local police reckon the prayer room has helped reduce crime and alcohol-related incidents too. You can add your own prayer request @ 24-7 prayer.com
Groove Armada at Coastline
20 July 2001
Groove Armada should be one of the highlights of an otherwise rain-soaked Ibiza this weekend. The dance duo are playing at the Coastline bar on Sunday (July 22). Ibiza has suffered a torrential downpour over the past few days. Coastline had to abandon its plans to create a man-made beach, and Cafe Mambo's beach area was flooded out.
End of guest lists?
Updated: 20 July 2001
After a quiet start in Ibiza, this month has seen a turnaround with nights like Judgement Sunday and Twice As Nice packing them in. But it seems that the clubs could fall victim to their own success because the government is now worried that venues are becoming dangerously full. They want to make sure that clubs don't go over their legal capacity and are threatening to whack promoters with hefty fines, or even closure, if they do.
One way around this would be to abolish guest lists. We Love Sundays at Space have already stopped giving out free passes at the bars. And the man behind Manumission, Andy Manumission, says that there's an agreement between all the clubs to do the same.
