FT: Man City 2-2 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "First half wasn't good enough from us. We defended well in spells but the goal we conceded was sloppy. The main message at half-time was we had to believe, have confidence, and i think the boys showed that in abundance. The boys showed incredible fight and character to get a pint from the game.

"I feel like we need to attack games. It's easier said than done. Coming to a place like the Etihad, City are going to have more of the ball and control the game. It's about being patient, staying focused when you get your chances and moments to take them, and we did tonight."

On his backheel goal: "It was a bit of instinct when the ball came to me. I just had one thought in my mind and luckily it came off and got us back in the game. The boys showed incredible fight, that's how we need to approach every game."

On Elliot Anderson: "I'll always praise Eliot, he is an incredible player, a really key payer, he has incredible talent, and he is still so young. The world is his oyster at the minute."

  4. 'VAR tried to find something to take away my penalty'published at 23:19 GMT 4 March

    FT: Fulham 0-1 West Ham

    Fulham

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney, speaking to TNT Sports on whether it was a penalty on him that VAR decided otherwise: "Yeah because if it's not there, I score. He's [Taty Castellanos] not got the ball. I haven't tackled him.

"He gave a free-kick for Josh King for exactly the same thing. He gave a foul to us where Josh King kicks him when he's about to shoot and the same thing happened to me inside the box. The referee gives a penalty and then VAR try to find something like they normally do, send the ref over to the screen and make another decision.

"That's what happened. If he's not there I score."

  5. 'It was an outstanding team performance'published at 23:15 GMT 4 March

    FT: Aston Villa 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “We knew coming into the game in terms of the season and what we want to achieve that it was a big game. The team stepped up. I thought it was an outstanding team performance. Obviously, Joao will get the plaudits and rightly so but some of our possession play, our incision, pressing, our energy, our commitment to defend was top but it needs to continue.

“We started the game really, really, well and then they score. It is a fantastic finish. I have to say I don’t understand how a penalty is not given on Reece, we have a few setbacks, but we’ve spoken a lot as a group in a positive way and we definitely showed that tonight.

“Rob is an outstanding goalkeeper and I just saw Filip [Jorgensen] in training and sometimes as a manager you have to go with your gut. Filip gave us something different and they will both be fighting it out for the rest of the season."

  6. 'This win means a lot to us and our fans'published at 23:14 GMT 4 March

    FT: Fulham 0-1 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a very difficult match. I think the boys gave it their all. It's a tough place to come. A fantastic team, Fulham, even after they make the subs, they're stronger. We fight until the end and it means a lot to us, it means a lot to our fans that were huge today the help that they gave us."

On Crysencio Summerville's goal: "He's in a very good moment. He's full of confidence. He's helping the team a lot. "

On keeping a clean sheet: "The clean sheet is always our goal when we start the games. We want to be compact to our opponents because the talent that we have can make the difference."

On the VAR calls: "I didn't see any. We just finished the match now. Please don't make me judge, I don't have an opinion, sorry."

On the trajectory of the team: "We are improving game by game. It can happen, games like Liverpool, but the confidence is there and the boys are working very hard, very committed knowing that the situation that we are [in] doesn't change anything. We are focused on ourselves and keep going."

  7. 'A special night' for Pedropublished at 23:12 GMT 4 March

    FT: Aston Villa 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, speaking to TNT Sports: “I think it is a special night for me. I was waiting for this time. My hat-trick came at the right moment, after we lost against Arsenal, I think we showed them the comeback and how much we want to achieve.

“I work a lot to be ready for this moment and I have great players around me so I try to always be in the right place and today I could score three goals.

“Everyone wants to win every game. The last game against Arsenal we could win. Today we showed how much we were frustrated from the last game and got an important three points away.

“In the whole season we try to be consistent but have dropped too many points at home but now we need to look forward and do our best every game.

“Today was special that is why I did a small samba [dance].”

  8. 'All the 50-50s go against us, but we are used to it'published at 23:10 GMT 4 March

FT: Man City 2-2 Nottingham Forest

    Manchester City

Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva speaking to TNT Sports: "Quite frustrating because playing at home and twice we were leading and we couldn't keep the result. At the end we had a lot of chances, they went up twice and scored two goals. Sometimes football is like this.

"They are a good team, a very good team, with a lot of quality. Five at the back, normally they play four but they decide to go more defensive, more patient, it's always difficult to break through a block of five.

"They were patient enough to punish us when they were able to counter, we weren't stable enough in terms of not allowing them to find spaces. Especially at 2-1, we allowed them to run a few times.

"I feel we should have won today with the chances we created, but sometimes football is like this."

Should City have had a penalty?

"We are used to this this season, all the 50-50s have gone against us. The Erling incident - for me it is a penalty. What can Erling do? This season we are used to it, we know how it works.

"Our job is to be better. These things we cannot control. What we can control is our own performances. That is what we must focus on."

  9. 'We will definitely learn from it' - Carrickpublished at 23:10 GMT 4 March

    FT: Newcastle 2-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Obviously bitterly disappointed. We came here to get something, we knew it would be a tough start, they were going to make us work for it, we navigated the game to put ourselves in a position to kick on but we didn't do that. Tonight hurts a lot, especially the way we conceded at the end which makes it more extreme.

"We can be better as a team. It is a lesson for us, at some point we were going to lose a game of football.

"We’ve been on a good run, put ourselves in a decent position so it is one game and we will definitely learn from it. We have to and we have to be better for it."

On the battle for Champions League places being tight: "[It was] always going to be, tonight doesn’t change that. We put ourselves in the position by winning games, tonight hurts, it is disappointing but we move on and have to be better next time out."

On 11 days before their next game against Aston Villa: "It doesn’t really make any difference. Losing a game, especially in that matter, it is something we have to take and accept and understand why that happens. Whenever the next game is we will deal with it. We know it is a little bit longer but it gives us time to prepare."

On what went wrong in build up to Newcastle's winning goal: "It is not for me to dissect that now. I think we are just disappointed with the result there was a lot in the game we could be better with and we will have to be."

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal defender Gabriel, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think we know what the game is we want to play. It is very tough to come here and play well. The more important thing is coming here, getting the clean sheet and the three points.

On his headed clearance: "When I saw the player was free, I didn't have time to step up to him but I covered David and head clear.

On Saka: "We are very happy for him. He is a top guy. Today is 300 games? He is still young.

"At the end, they put every player in the front and we did well. We are so happy to keep the clean sheet and get the three points."

  12. 'They didn't create much'published at 23:03 GMT 4 March

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton's Pascal Gross, speaking to TNT Sports: "Arsenal play for the title, they're very solid, not easy to score against. We created some half-chances. They didn't create much. When you go 1-0 down, it's always tough and we couldn't score. They played the game until the end.

On penalty shout: "I've not seen it back. When I go in the box, the way they defend on the edge, also with corners.

"From corners, they block us, they don't even watch the ball. That's how it is, but it's also why they keep a clean sheet. They defend strong and on the edge.

"It kills the rhythm. If you watch the games back, they're very good at doing it. They take time setting things up for themselves. It plays in their favour.

"Sometimes we missed the last pass or the finish. We need more belief that we cna do it."

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson speaking to TNT Sports: "It was massive, obviously we've had a poor run, we knew coming here we would have to fight and work hard because they are a top side. We dug out a point, we are really happy.

"It keeps us pushing, we've got such a team spirit. I couldn't fault the effort of the lads, I thought we fought really hard today."

On Morgan Gibbs-White's backheel goal: "It was a great finish and got the belief going for the team.

"We've got a few days off after a lot of games. Then we will be back on the pitch working top pick up more points in this battle."

    FT: Fulham 0-1 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Crysencio Summerville on TNT: "Very massive, we have to fight until the end, that’s what we did. I am very pleased to get the three points.

"The ball came to me, so I needed to take my composure. The coach said we have to be composed in the final third, I took the advice and I am happy I took it away!

"I am in a good space, I love to play, I am just happy to be back and I try to show it every week.

"We have to keep going now, we took positives from the Liverpool game, we had lots of positives, the fans behind us are very pleased and we are going in the right direction, the only way is up."

  16. 'Football fans want to see a football game, not time wasting'published at 22:56 GMT 4 March

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton's Pascal Gross, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "In the second half, we had two or three chances. We didn't finish the attack, it's the only thing we missed today. We didn't give away many chances. A good performance, really good effort but in the end, we're disappointed about the result.

"We found a lot of solutions against them. We created a lot. It wasn't the case today, so we are disappointed that we outplayed them.

"No words needed for that for Arsenal. I said my opinion on it. I'm really proud of my fans for how they supported us. Everyone can make their own decision, but I'm sure you don't like to watch these football games. I made my point and I think it's a fair point. Football fans want to see a football game, not time wasting."

  17. "It is very positive to see our future together' - Pereirapublished at 22:56 GMT 4 March

FT: Man City 2-2 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira speaking to TNT Sports: "It is not easy to play here against City, with one day less to recover. In the end we played a good game, first half more defending, but we created two big chances to score. After their goal we started to understand the spaces they concede to us, and we scored good goal.

"It was a pity the corner [City's second goal] because we knew they would try the far post. But overall I am happy with the speed, the performance, and it is very positive to see our future together.

On his confidence of avoiding relegation: "I am very positive, I believe a lot in the quality of the players. I believe with a little bit of time, I hope next week, we can increase our level. They have quality, we are organised, and I believe with this spirit we have the conditions to get points everywhere.

"[I have had only] two training sessions with the team, because the other ones were to recover the team, not to work [on new ideas]."

On City's penalty appeals: "It's normal in football. They want to win, to push the referee, this is normal. In my opinion this is not a game we can complain about the referee."

Mikel Arteta, Manager of Arsenal, applauds the fansImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to TNT Sports: "This was a really difficult one after everything we've been through in the last few weeks.

"Every game in the Premier League offers you different things. Big credit to the boys because the effort they put in is astronomical.

On Saka's 300th game: "I didn't know it was that many, but at his age, it is incredible the consistency he shows and it is a pleasure to have him.

"We are missing quite a lot of players in the backline. The commitment of every player is unbelievable and that is why we do what we do.

On seven-point gap: "We did what we had to do and that is what we will continue to do."

  19. 'You have to show all of your qualities'published at 22:55 GMT 4 March

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "When the other side is not as efficient as you want, we are playing a lot of games at a high intensity. When you are not at your best attacking, you have to show all of your qualities.

"It's a really difficult place to come and win. Every team that comes here suffers but we did what we had to do to win.

"We have some amazing supporters. The ones that travel with us every three days, it shows the passion. Thank you so much.

"We have two very different competitions in the next few days. We know that it will be a long run but we are on it."

  20. Postpublished at 22:53 GMT 4 March

    FT: Aston Villa 1-4 Chelsea

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery speaking to TNT Sports: “We competed but they dominated more in the first half. We were defending and getting some transitions. We got the first goal. After we scored the second goal that VAR refused it was the key moment.

“The match was equal in the result and so tight but they were playing better than us. After they scored their third goal they had complete confidence in the match. We tried but it was not enough.

“What we did wrong was more how we faced Chelsea today. We are now in a bad moment. Chelsea are so happy and deserved to win. The consistency is very important but now we are not being consistent.

"In 29 matches we have been better than them but not today. Now we have to find solutions and recover our confidence and good form."
