Ludvig Aberg may not have provided the fireworks of Friday but he takes a three-shot lead into Sunday's final round of the Players Championship in Florida.

The Swede, who shot a 63 in round two to move two clear at the halfway mark, backed that up with a one-under-par 71 to improve to 13 under overall.

Make sure you join us around 18:00 GMT on Sunday for what is sure to be an enthralling finale.

More Ludvig Aberg on Sky Sports: "TPC Sawgrass is about execution, if you hit the fairways, if you hit the shots, you're going to get a lot of chances and if you don't you get punished, but that's the type of golf I like.

"I love these big tournaments, these big field tournaments I love being around here. Tomorrow will be a challenge but I'm looking forward to it, it'll be fun."

  4. 'I love the atmosphere'published at 23:18 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -13 (71)

Players Championship leader Ludvig Aberg, speaking to NBC after the third round: "I think anything that wasn't like yesterday was going to be a slower start. Overall I didn't play my best golf today but it felt like I kind of hung in there which was nice.

"I would have loved to have had a couple of those putts on 16 and 17 and obviously the one on 18 as well. I started the day with a two-shot lead and now we've got a three-shot lead so I guess that's a good thing.

"It [Sunday] will be fun. It's a challenge for sure. I slept on the lead last night and it is fun, that is why we play tournaments. I love big tournaments and love these tournaments that have the big feel to it. I love the atmosphere, so I am looking forward to it. I am looking forward to a good day and let's see where that ends up tomorrrow night."

  5. 'If you hit a bad shot you make a double'published at 23:16 GMT 14 March

    Young -9 (72)

Cameron Young, speaking after carding a level-par 72 in the third round: "Ifeel like I battled pretty well. I didn't play great. Been driving it really well, and today I just didn't get it in the fairways much. I hit a bunch of decent shots, but just one of those days where they all were 32 feet, and you don't make many of those.

"To get it back to two-under with one hole to go I feel like was pretty good. Honestly, the tee shot wasn't bad. I almost bent over to pick up the tee when I hit it. There's a bunch of wind up there, and it just kept turning and turning and was a foot too much.

"It's pretty much if you hit a bad shot you make a double for the most part. So there's not much room for error and, yeah, it's taxing, but I feel like these two weeks, Bay Hill, here, you're just kind of ready for it."

  6. 'Slow and steady wins the race'published at 23:12 GMT 14 March

    Thorbjornsen -10 (67)

Michael Thorbjornsen, speaking after signing for a five-under 67 in the third round: "I think if you play some really steady golf you'll run into some birdies. Does anyone have a bogey-free round either yesterday or today? I'm not too sure, but there aren't many. So I think slow and steady wins the race, and we're just going to play some solid golf.

"I love playing golf with him [Ludvig Aberg]. He was one of the guys in college that I looked up to, even though he's only one year older than me.

"Very solid, very solid player. I think his mental game is extremely good as well. So if it ends up happening, I'm really looking forward to it and then, yeah, pretty cool that I guess two hometown guys are in the final group."

  7. Quality winners at Sawgrasspublished at 23:07 GMT 14 March

Over the last six years the cream really has risen to the top at The Players Championship, with every champion at Sawgrass being ranked inside the top 10 in the world...

  8. Postpublished at 23:04 GMT 14 March

    Thorbjornsen -10 (67)

Michael Thorbjornsen (currently second) opened with a two-over 74 on Thursday.

Should he triumph on Sunday it would be the highest number posted by a winner in the opening round of a Players Championship.

Hal Sutton's opening 73 in 1983 is the current mark.

  9. Bogey finish for Abergpublished at 22:59 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -13 (71), Schauffele -8 (74)

Ludvig Aberg can't make the par putt coming back so that's a damaging bogey to finish the day which will send him off to the clubhouse really annoyed that he'll return tomorrow with just a three-shot lead.

Xander Schauffele can't find the cup either with his birdie putt, just playing it with too much break and it doesn't quite turn enough to drop, so he signs for a disappointing 74, going in the opposite direction on moving day.

  10. Heavy handedpublished at 22:57 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -14, Schauffele -8 (17)

Ludvig Aberg's had a shocker with his putt down the hill on the last, giving it far too much and only just inside Xander Schauffele's ball - leaving seven feet for his par.

  11. Up the lastpublished at 22:53 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -14, Schauffele -8 (17)

Off the final pair go up the last at Sawgrass, with both finding the fairway off the tee.

Xander Schauffele has about 170 yards to the flag and fires a dart in to nine feet, so he'll have a great chance to end a diffuclt day with a birdie.

Ludvig Aberg has just 150 yards and goes a bit long with his, leaving around 25 feet to the flag.

  12. Chance missedpublished at 22:46 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -14, Schauffele -8 (17)

Ludvig Aberg has played really well this back nine after struggling on the front, but he will want this putt back after a fine shot on 17 left him with eight foot for birdie, but he fails to make it.

He's got a four-shot lead right now but five wouldn't hurt would it?

  13. A pair of 72spublished at 22:44 GMT 14 March

    Thomas -8 (72), Straka -7 (72)

Not all level par rounds are the same, just look at these two, with Sepp Straka mixing in his four birdies and four bogeys at intervals and never being more than a couple over today.

Then Justin Thomas who made six birdies with four of those coming after a calamity on the sixth when he made a triple bogey. The fightback was impressive and he almost canned another birdie on 18, but he'll be thrilled to walk off with a 72.

He will naturally think about what could have been but for that one stinker of a hole, but he'll also know he's played pretty good golf apart from that.

  14. Young ends with damaging doublepublished at 22:43 GMT 14 March

    Young -9 (72)

Cam Young, probably still feeling that shot off the tee, clips his third into dipped grass area that resembles a bunker.

The grass is longer in there and he scoots through the putting surfance into the actual sand when he can't control his chip.

He'll be lucky to escape with a bogey here. Nope it's going to be worse than that. Like Matt Fitzpatrick earlier he concludes his day with a damaging double bogey.

The American has shot a three-under 69, which probably feels like a 75 after that finish.

  15. Making a mess of 16published at 22:31 GMT 14 March

    Aberg -14, Schauffele -8 (15)

Xander Schauffele misses the fairway on 16, just his third miss off the tee today, and he then only hacks out to more rough further down the hole. He then hits a tree when pulling his third and the ball bounces back into the fairway for him to chip onto the green to have a chance of a crazy five.

Ludvig Aberg is up by the green in two, but with all the water staring him in the face over the back of the green he has a nervy jab at the ball and just duffs his chip - leaving work to do to save his par.

  16. Postpublished at 22:29 GMT 14 March

    Young -11 (17)

Cam Young looks disgusted with himself. He has just hit the shot of the day on the 17th and now finds the drink off the 18th tee.

What a huge mistake at just the wrong time.

  17. Young back within threepublished at 22:27 GMT 14 March

    Young -11 (17)

As expected Cam Young rolls in his birdie on the 17th from kick-in range. As it stands he will be in the final pairing on Sunday.

He is now within three shots of the leader Ludvig Aberg, who is having issues down the 16th.

  18. Bogey finish for Bridgemanpublished at 22:22 GMT 14 March

    Bridgeman -7 (71)

A disappointing finish for Jacob Bridgeman as he races a nine footer for par on the last way past the hole and has to sink the return from four feet just for a bogey on 18.

He's had a proper tale of two nines today as he turned in four under but then went three over on his back nine to sign for a 71 to finish on seven under and just inside the top 10.

  19. Postpublished at 22:20 GMT 14 March

    Young -10 (16)

Only a par for Cam Young on the 16th. Finding the right rough off the tee certainly did him no favours.

On to the 17th he goes and absolutely nails his approach to leave a birdie putt from no more than a foot. How big could that shot be?

  20. Thomas is still in thispublished at 22:19 GMT 14 March

    Thomas -8, Straka -7 (17)

You've got to take your hat off to Justin Thomas who was one under for his round after four holes and two holes later found himself three over!

Since that triple bogey he's made one more bogey but four birdies, including back-to-back at 16 and now 17 following a great tee shot.

It's also just his second tournament back after injury and despite all his troubles today he's now on eight under, in a tie for fourth and six shots off the leader so still well in touch.
