    High tides are expected to cause flooding overnight. Flooding is expected from 8:00pm to 1:00am on 23/1/26. Areas most at risk include A354 Chiswell, Brandy Row, Pebble Lane, Victoria Square up to the junction with Queens Road, the car parks along the A354 and the yard along Lerret Road. A 0.66m surge and large waves totalling 5.3m will increase water levels considerably higher than normal. We are expecting a high total water level (including waves) of 6.85mAODN. For information the high tide is at 9:21pm with South Easterly Force 8 winds. There is a high likelihood the causeway road will be submerged and may need to be closed between 8pm Friday 23rd January and 1am Saturday 24th January. We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded . There is a chance wave overtopping may occur at the Chiswell end. Areas most at risk include farms at Sturminster Marshall, Cowgrove, Shops in Wimborne, Mill Street in Corfe Mullen, Bridge House Hotel in Ferndown, Brecon Close, Ringwood Road, Throop Road in Bournemouth, Barrack Road and Willow Way in Christchurch. Levels at the Wimborne gauge are rising steadily following days of rainfall. the levvel is forecast to peak at Wimborne overnight but further rain could push the level higher. We are not forecasting any impacts at Iford Park homes at this point with current models suggesting levels peaking below 2.2m at the site. We are closely monitoring the situation .     High groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Flooding is expected from today, 23 January 2026 onwards. Areas that could be affected include: Hooke, Toller Whelme and Toller Porcorum. The groundwater level at the Dickley Down borehole has risen to 165m, and is expected to rise over the next few days. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at West Bay harbour of 2.44 mAODN at 9:00AM, which is 0.49m above tide tables, with South Easterly force 8 winds.     The River Arun is high, but slowly falling in Pulborough, following this week's rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough, and near to Swan Bridge and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Water will be extensive through fields, gardens and the A29 at Pulborough. A small amount of rain is forecast on Friday morning, which should not increase flood risk significantly. River levels will continue to fall. Only an isolated shower is forecast Friday afternoon through to Monday, which, over the weekend, should allow river levels to fall. Flood risk and flood impacts should reduce a little by Saturday evening. However, river levels are unlikely to return near to a normal level until later next week. Currently rain is forecast on Tuesday, which could increase flood risk again. We are closely monitoring the situation. Areas most at risk include areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick area. the River level at the Throop station has triggered this Warning and the risk is higher during each of the next 3 high tides.     Water levels remain high on Friday 23rd January following overnight rain. Flooding is expected to continue. The River Tone level at Currymoor Pumping Station is 7.53m. Water will enter Currymoor via Hookbridge spillway if this level exceeds 7.45m. The Drain level at Currymoor Pumping Station is 6.59m and rising steadily. Cutts Road floods when this drain level is above 5.75m and New Road when the level is above 6.18m. There is a risk of water overtopping Haymoor flood storage area and affecting Curload and Stan Moor if this level reaches 8.30m. For the latest river and drain levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. Unsettled conditions with spells of heavy rain are forecast for the coming days. We continue to monitor the situation closely and staff are checking the condition of flood banks, spillways and weed screens. Pumping will commence at Currymoor once the river level allows.     Rising groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Flooding is expected from 19th January 2026 onwards. Groundwater levels in Cranborne Chase remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Iwerne Minster. The groundwater level at the Iwerne Hill Farm borehole has risen to 109.77m, and is expected to remain high. Further bands of rain are forecast over the next few days. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, please take care when driving. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts Please do not drive through floodwater as this may cause bow waves. Areas that could be affected include: Winterbourne Abbas, Winterbourne Steepleton, Martinstown, Winterbourne Monkton, Winterbourne Herringston and Winterbourne Came. The groundwater level at the Kingston Russell borehole has risen to 116.56m, and is expected to rise further over the next few days. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected. Roads may be damaged by floodwater. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. The Environment Agency are liaising with Norfolk Highways who will decide whether to close the road. Flooding will affect the Langport to Muchelney road if this drain level exceeds 7.3m, the Muchelney to Long Load road above 7.86m, the Muchelney to Thorney road above 7.93m and the Muchelney to Draycott road above 8.8m. Property flooding is possible above 8.35m. Please refer to @TravelSomerset for information on local road closures. Pumping will start at Huish Episcopi and Westover stations once river levels allow. The Parrett Relief Channel will be opened when river spillways stop running. Unsettled conditions with spells of heavy rain are forecast for the coming days.     The Western Rother is high but falling near Fittleworth following Wednesday's rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, rural roads, and gardens, as well as properties in Fittleworth, and be close to properties at Lodsbridge. Between Liss and Midhurst, river levels have already fallen significantly from their peak. A small amount of rain is forecast Friday morning, which should not increase flood risk significantly, but river levels could rise a little. Only an isolated shower is forecast Friday afternoon through to Monday, which should allow river levels to fall. River levels should return near to normal in Liss by Friday evening, in Midhurst by Saturday morning, and in Lodsbridge by Sunday.     Water levels remain high on Friday 23rd January following overnight rain. Flooding is expected to continue. The River Tone level at Currymoor Pumping Station is 7.53m. Water will enter Currymoor via Hookbridge spillway if this level exceeds 7.45m. The Drain level at Currymoor Pumping Station is 6.59m and rising steadily. Cutts Road floods when this drain level is above 5.75m and New Road when the level is above 6.18m. There is a risk of water overtopping Haymoor flood storage area and affecting Curload and Stan Moor if this level reaches 8.30m. For the latest river and drain levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. Unsettled conditions with spells of heavy rain are forecast for the coming days.     The River Arun is high, but now falling near at Pallingham Lock, following Wednesday's rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect gardens of properties at Pallingham Lock. Between Horsham and Broadbridge Heath river levels are still higher than normal, but are falling. Minor flood impacts affecting gardens of Tanbridge Park, Blackbridge Court, and Arunside School fields and gardens of mill properties near Broadbridge Heath should slowly ease. A small amount of rain is forecast Friday morning, which should not increase flood risk significantly, but river levels could rise a little Friday afternoon. Only an isolated shower is forecast Friday afternoon through to Monday, which should allow river levels to fall over the weekend. River levels should return near to normal by Saturday in Horsham, Monday near Pallingham Lock. However, rain Tuesday could bring more flood risk.
