오늘은 날씨에 대한 다양한 표현을 배워보겠습니다. 먼저 오늘 날씨에 대해 이야기 하는 것을 들어볼게요. 듣고 어떤 사람이 가장 기분이 안 좋을지 생각해보세요.

What's the weather like today?

A) It's really cold and rainy.
B) It's cloudy but it's quite warm outside.
C) Ugh it's raining now.
D) It's really sunny and it's very hot today!

음.. 제가 좋아하는 날씨도 있는데요, 지금 여러분들이 계신 곳은 날씨가 어떤가요? 자, 날씨 얘기를 하기전에, 상대방에게 날씨가 어떤지 물어보는 표현을 배워보겠습니다.

OK, so we ask the question like this: 'What's the weather like?' And it just means 'tell me about the weather today'. Let's practise the pronunciation. Listen again and repeat.

Sian, 날씨를 나타내는 표현들을 살펴볼까요? We heard lots of adjectives- 형용사죠?

Yes! So we have adjectives to describe the weather and these are made with the noun plus the letter 'y'. Like, for 'rain' we can say 'it's rainy today'.

네 그렇습니다. Rain비는 명사인데요, rain 에 y를 붙여 rainy 비가 오는, 이렇게 형용사로 만들었습니다. 그래서 It's rainy today. 이렇게 말할 수 있죠. 그럼 이제 cloud 구름, 그리고 sun해를 형용사로 만들어볼까요? 다시 한 번 들어보고 여러분의 답과 비교해보세요.

Yes, so you can use these adjectives to describe the weather today - or to talk about the weather in general in your country. Don't forget to start with 'it is' – 'it's' '
It's cloudy, it's rainy, it's sunny'.

That's right – so 'warm' is comfortable – not hot and not cold. We can also say 'it's cool' which is closer to cold.
