Hannah Jones joined the board of BBC Media Action in February 2026.

It’s a privilege to join BBC Media Action as a Trustee. In a world of disinformation and distrust, their mission has never been more critical and urgent - to protect and support free and independent journalism across the world.

I began my career at the BBC in Radio’s 1, 5 and the World Service. It is at the BBC that I saw first-hand the profound role media has to tell stories that matter, give a platform to previously unheard voices, and put information that matters in the hands of individuals and communities.

My belief in the essential role of storytelling as a vehicle for social change has never wavered and has been core to every role I’ve played, whether as Nike’s Chief Sustainability Officer or President of Nike’s first digital incubator, Valiant Labs, or, most recently, as the inaugural CEO of HRH Prince William’s The Earthshot Prize.

I look forward to helping BBC Media Action scale their reach and impact, ensuring that we continue to use the power of free, independent media to change lives, and tell stories that matter.
