What can the
special places tell us?
Strange carved stone balls were found in Skara Brae. Archaeologists don't know what they were for. They might have used in a ritual. The owners of these objects might be important within the society. Perhaps they were passed around, making the holder significant. Or they might even have been part of a game. What do you think?
