오늘은 카페에서 쓸 수 있는 표현을 배워볼게요. 까페에서 주문하는 표현을 한 번 들어볼까요? 이해하지 못해도 걱정하지마세요. 저희가 조금 있다 도와드릴게요. 일단 어떤 음식과 음료를 주문하는지 한 번 맞춰보세요.

들으셨나요? Green tea 녹차와 cheese sandwich 치즈샌드위치를 주문했네요. 그럼 Sian, 우리가 까페에서 쓸 수 있는 표현을 같이 살펴볼까요?

주문할 차례가 되면 직원이 여러분에게 뭘 주문할지 물어봅니다.

Yes, can you remember what they said? Let's listen again to find out.

What can I get you?

Sian  
Yes, you'll probably hear 'What can I get you?' Or they may say 'Who's next?'

Bolam
직원이 'Who's next? 다음분은 누구죠?라고 한다면 바로 다음에 주문하실 분이요~라는 뜻입니다.

Sian  
Now, it's time to order. You can say 'Can I have…?' and then give your order. Let's practise the pronunciation of that! Repeat after me: 'Can I have…?'

만약 여러분이 주문하는 게 단수이고 셀 수 있는 거면 명사 앞에 관사 a 또는 모음일 경우 관사 an 을 붙여야겠죠?

Sian  
That's right. Careful with pronunciation – so we say 'uh' and 'un'. So, 'Can I have a green tea?', 'Can I have an orange juice?', and remember to be polite, so what word do we need to add? That's right – it's 'please'.

Bolam
억양도 신경 쓰는 것 잊지 마세요. Sian이 말하는 것을 잘 들어보세요.

Sian  
Repeat after me:

Bolam
다음에는 이런 질문을 할 겁니다. 무슨 뜻인지 들어보실까요?

Take away or have here?

아시겠어요? 음식이나 음료를 까페에서 먹을건지 아니면 포장해갈건지 물어보는 질문입니다.

Sian
Yes and you can just say 'Have here, please' if you want to stay. Or, 'Take away, please' if you want to take it out of the café. Don't forget 'please'.

Bolam
마지막으로 직원이 이렇게 물어봅니다.

Anything else?

Sian  
That's right – this is short for 'Do you want to buy anything else?'

Bolam
그렇죠. 직원은 다른 것을 더 주문할 건지 아니면 이제 주문이 끝났는지 물어보는 거죠?

Sian  
If you don't want anything, just say 'That's all, thanks'. Let's practise. Repeat after me: That's all, thanks.
