It will be dry this morning, with areas of variable cloud more often in the west and sunshine in the east. Cloud will develop for all by the evening with stronger winds and heavy rain in the west.

Tonight, heavy rain will continue pushing eastwards, falling as snow on high ground for a time. The rain will clear in the early hours leaving showers in the north-west, clear spells south and east.

Tomorrow will be windy with a mixture of variable cloud, sunny spells, and scattered showers. These will be wintry over the hills and more frequent in the west with a small risk of hail here.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Saturday will continue windy and cloudy with rain pushing in later in the day. Saturday night and through much of Sunday will see very strong winds with stormy conditions and damaging gusts, especially in the north and west. Heavy rain and hill snow are also likely in northern and western areas but possibly also at lower levels at times. Calmer and sunnier by Monday.
