Tonight will see wintry showers persist in northern and western areas, whilst it will stay drier and clearer to the east. A cold night.

Saturday

Starting dry and sunny in the east tomorrow morning, with wintry showers continuing to the west hills. Turning very windy and gusty in the afternoon as Storm Dave arrives bringing heavy rain and snow.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Much of Sunday will see very strong winds, stormy conditions and damaging gusts, especially in the north. Heavy rain and hill snow are also likely in northern and western areas but possibly also at lower levels during the morning. Breezy but sunnier by Monday. Milder on Tuesday but staying breezy. Sunshine will develop widely but western areas see a risk of thundery showers.
