Vehicle Safety Checks

BBC Safety have developed a Safety Short on Vehicle Safety Checks.

Updated: 27 August 2024

Vehicle Safety Checks summarises the safety inspection, servicing and record keeping requirements for:

  • Technical / Commercial vehicles over 2 tonnes (OB trucks, VSat, SNG, etc.)
  • Pool vehicles less than 2 tonnes (lease vans and cars)
  • Essential business need (EBN) pool cars
  • Hire vehicles.

It also provides a '10-point roadworthiness checklist' to help you carry out a basic but structured safety check of your vehicle.

We hope you find this new Safety Short helpful and informative. It can also be found in our Safety Guidelines on 'Driving' and 'Broadcast Vehicles'.
