Sian
Yes, the first person said 'I've got a cold'. So if you have an illness, you can say 'I've got …' and then give the name of the illness.

Bolam
λ„€, a coldλŠ” 감기죠. μ—¬κΈ°μ„œ μ•žμ— a, a cold λΆ™μ—¬μ£ΌλŠ” 것 μžŠμ§€λ§ˆμ„Έμš”.

Sian
Yes although if you have 'the flu', we use 'the' not 'a'. So we say 'I've got a cold' but we say  'I've got the flu'.

Bolam
That’s right. FluλŠ” λ…κ°μž…λ‹ˆλ‹€. 이제 κ°κΈ°λ‚˜ λ…κ°μ˜ symptoms 증상을 μ‚΄νŽ΄λ³ΌκΉŒμš”?

Sian
Yes, so speaker two says 'I have a cough' – and a cough is this. Let's practise the pronunciation.

a cough

I have a cough.

Bolam

Insert
I have a sore throat.

Sian
Yes, we use the adjective 'sore' when we feel pain. So you can have a sore arm or a sore leg for example.

You can also use the verb 'hurt' – you can use 'hurt' with any body part where you feel pain. For example, 'my arm hurts', 'my head hurts', 'my legs hurt'.

Bolam
